Günther Gumprich (16 January 1900 – 17 October 1943) was a ''Kapitän zur See'' (captain) of Nazi Germany's ''Kriegsmarine'' who, during World War II, commanded a merchant raider. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
